Handling of works

1. Sunlight

Do not place artwork in direct sunlight. Artwork will get sunburn, and will deteriorate as a result.

Also please be minded that placing artwork under the direct lighting can potentially cause it to deteriorate by losing its original colors etc.

2. Humidity

Paper-based artworks can easily get affected by humidity.

Highly humid environment can cause stains and mold to form on artworks.

Please do not touch artwork with wet hands, or place it in highly humid areas such as near kitchen or bathroom etc.

However, an extremely dry environment is also not ideal for paper-based artwork as well; please prevent it from direct contact with air blowing from air conditioner.

3. How to store artwork

To store artwork, wrap it with Japanese washi paper or turmeric-infused washi paper, and store it in a place that has good air ventilation with low humidity level.

Storing artwork with insect-repelling incense can be effective to prevent damages caused by harmful insects, but please make sure the incense does not directly touch the artwork.

4. How to handle hanging scroll(KAKEJIKU)

* Please refer to "How to handle / maintain hanging scroll".

5. Care instruction for artwork frames

It is easier for acrylic sheet to get static electricity on its surface. This attracts dust etc. that can cause scratches.

To remove dust, prepare aqueous solution with neutral detergent with 1% concentration, apply it to a soft cloth, and use it to wipe off dust from acrylic sheet. (Never use solutions that contain alcohol, paint thinner, benzene, etc.)
