Description of Works:

This work was an attempt at creation in the penmanship of Darjee (1791-1858) of the Qing dynasty.  The main meaning of the phrase is: "I am not polishing a brick to make a mirror, I am instantly creating a spring. The phrase written by Tang Fenen on the "Ancient Brick Flowers Offerings" scroll produced by the Buddhist monk Darjee, echoes the Zen phrase:  The "Old Brick Blossom Offerings" is composed of more than ten or so rubbings of ancient bricks and other artifacts in Darjee's possession, which are placed on the scroll, and made to look like vessels. It is a series of long scrolls on which the friends who are good at painting attached paintings of flowers.

Framed in black with gold paper.
