11 works by Bokkan Kakishita, the master of modern calligrapher, were exhibited.
Bokkan studied under Yukei Teshima, one of three famous Showa period calligraphers, and has been active at the forefront until now, and is a legendary person who lives now as a direct expression of SHOUSHO created by Teshima.
From the minds, emotions, and images received from nature, cities, people and music, he searches for characters that are appropriate to express them. Once the characters are decided, he breaks the characters once and reconstructed to create the image he wants to draw.
By Sumi ink and brush, he infuses spirit and soul, sometimes humidity and a feeling of air into the character.
The calligraphy drawn in that way becomes a formative calligraphy as an art of mental image.
Please take a look at the world of real SHOUSHO.
